Sania Mirza Shares Secrets Of Her Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss

Sania Mirza revealed in an Instagram post on Tuesday that she lost 26 kgs in four months after giving birth. She credited her weight loss to “a lot of hard work, discipline and dedication” while sharing a video that shows her working out at a gym. Sania Mirza and her husband, cricketer Shoaib Malik, welcomed a baby boy, Izhaan, in October last year. In her Instagram post, the tennis star revealed that she put on 23 kilos during her pregnancy.

“I’ve been asked bout my ‘weight loss’ journey sooo many times,” wrote Sania Mirza before going on to say that she would share snippets of the weight loss process with her Instagram followers every few days.

Encouraging new mothers to work out, Sania said that she receives messages from mothers about how difficult it is to return to “normalcy” after delivering a baby.

“Ladies, I just wanna say… if I can do it then anyone else can too,” she wrote. “Believe me that one hour or 2 hours a day to yourself will do wonders to you physically but sooo much mentally as well. Remember – #Mummahustles”

Sania Mirza also shared a throwback video which was filmed roughly two and a half months after her delivery. It shows her working out in a gym.

We had documented little ‘tid bits from my post pregnancy journey back to being and feeling healthy and fit again .. I’ve been asked bout my ‘weight loss’ journey sooo many times .. how? When? Which? Where ? So I’ll try to post some of it here everyday or every few days .. I put on 23 kilos when I was pregnant and have managed to lose 26 in span of 4 months or so .. with a lot of hard work ,discipline and dedication .. I read msgs from women allll the time as to how they find it so difficult to come back to ‘normalcy’ after child birth and don’t take care of themselves or don’t find the motivation or inspiration .. Ladies, I just wanna say … if I can do it then anyone else can too .. believe me that one hour or 2 hours a day to yourself will do wonders to you physically but sooo much mentally as well .. ❤️ remember – #Mummahustles ? Ps- this is me after losing a bit of weight already after Izhaan was born .. roughly 2 and a half half months after I delivered ..

Her Instagram video has been viewed over 1.9 lakh times and has collected dozens of comments.

“So inspiring, Sania,” wrote one person. “You inspire me in so many ways. Thank you,” said another, while a third added: “Thanks for sharing… Keep motivating mummas.”

On Wednesday, the 32-year-old tennis star posted an update with another throwback video of what she described as “one of the toughest days to get myself to go to the gym.”

“It was one of the toughest days to get myself to go to the gym I remember, sore body, tiredness, sleepless nights with the new baby,” she wrote, adding that it was her mind that kept her going even as her body wanted her to give up.

“It doesn’t happen over night! It is a process and once we accept that nothing can hold us back,” she wrote in her inspiring Instagram post.

Day 2- it was one of the toughest days to get myself to go to the gym I remember , sore body ,tiredness, sleepless nights with the new baby – after day 1 of such rigorous work out,my body wanted to give up and accept that it may never respond to exercise the same way as before .. that maybe I won’t be able to come back to being close to as fit as I used to be .. it was my mind that kept me going .. my jumps could get higher,my technique could get better ,my stamina could get better .. but it doesn’t happen over night !It is a process and once we accept that nothing can hold us back ? #mummahustles #fitindiamovement

It’s time for Day 6 – body was sore and had been doing quite a lot of weights so we did a lot of cardio sessions stuff .. skipping ,burpees (I hate ?) sprints .. a loottt of them ? it was tough cardio vascular stuff cause I thought at least in my case my muscles were adapting fast but my stamina had obviously dropped become quite bad and needed to rebuild that from scratch !! It was a process and I understand that completely today after I’ve been able to reach my goals ! ? #mummahustles
