Zarmina at Fashion Pakistan Week 2010

Fashion designer Zarmina showcased international styling with a desi soul, the philosophy behind ‘Glittering Ethnics.’

Zarmina Khan
considers her every outfit a piece of art that requires personalized decoration. Her creations are testimony to the fact that her forte at the Fashion Pakistan Week 2, day 5, lied in the unique but innovative blending of colors, textures and patterns. She used white chickenkari as a basic medium, combined with embossed and patterned silks and jamawars, the whole collection was pure feminine and elegant. Colors were muted and matched with the theme of the collection – ivory, feroza, black, jade and salmon pink. Panels of worked jamawar borders and feroza were used to add a dramatic touch and to create a dazzling effect. The silhouettes were paneled flared peshwazes, long skirts, lehengaas, shararas, jackets which created a kaleidoscope of traditional color and style.
The whole composition was teamed with headgear adorned with wigs and stones. Zarmina tried to make a statement with all her outfits. The pieces were designed for a woman who wants to make a show stopping entrance anywhere, anytime!
Anything can be a source of inspiration for her if her mind is in the mode of creation, may it be the white pained lines on the reads, the clouds, the leaves, colors or the shapes of nature her label excels at providing prêt wear which is very exclusive.
