Launch of TAI ZU – A taste of the Orient

Food loving Pakistanis are ready to hit a café or restaurant at any time of the day –  not only when they’re hungry, but sometimes just to spend some time with friends and family or simply because they’re bored. This trend was once again witnessed on Saturday evening when a new Hi end Oriental Chinese  restaurant made its way to the capital’s food scene.

Located in the heart of Islamabad’s F/7 area, is the expansive TAI ZU.

A very Japanese courtyard greets you at the entrance that has a courtyard feel to it. The restaurant, which has been designed by Ali Umer Alvi, has two spacious floors. There is also seating outside for those who want to take in the view and weather. Inside, the restaurant has walls painted in subtle Chinese style with big wide-paned windows that make one feel wonderfully modern China.

Owners Adnan Khalid and Wahaj Aslam decided to open this restaurant as they love Chinese food and wanted the capital to taste the best.

The best thing is that in Islamabad you can make use of the view and weather, which creates the best ambience for a restaurant.”

Hosted by top event hostess model Natty and co hosted by Models Nada, Dania and Sana, the Red Carpet launch very properly managed by Isloo based Rezz PR and Events brought style and glamour under one roof while waiters served platters of hors d’oeuvres and appetizers to guests.

Chinese food has always been all the rage when it comes to Pakistanis. The funny thing is that at some point in time, you have tried each and every one of them. While lots of new Chinese restaurants opened up, one place really made a mark and that has to be TAI ZU. The must try item will have to be the Sweet n Sour Crispy Chicken.

Deep fried chunks of chicken come with a harmony of sweet and sour sauce with vegetables on the side. Along with some egg fried rice, this dish is fantastic. It has the kick of the sauce and the crunch of the chicken.
