Karachi Light The Night Festival

With a goal to revive the night life of the city of lights, Pakistan’s biggest entertainment network, HUM Network hosted a three-day festival under the theme “Karachi, Light The Night! Chaand Raat Festival” at the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Park. The festival which started on July 26, 2018 and ended on chaand raat attracted families from every corner of the city, who enjoyed the nights within a safe environment. The Karachi Chaand Raat Festival aimed to revive the fading tradition of Chaand Raat and Karachi’s night life, and to bring together the people of Karachi to celebrate it.

The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Park was beautifully lit with colourful lights. The crowd participated in the festival enthusiastically, bringing back the activities that this city was once famous for – its night life and the tradition to go out with families, have dinner and shop to one’s heart’s content without worrying about the current law and order situation.

Different stalls were set up in the park which included food stalls, mehndi stalls, fun photo-booth and many others. Women were seen enjoying the mehndi stalls on all the three nights while men enjoyed the delicious food and other fun-filled activities. The main attractions on the all the three nights were HUM Network’s Publications stall, where the attendees were given the opportunity to meet, and buy a signed copy of their favourite chef, Shireen Anwar’s latest cookbook and the beautifully illuminated HOPE balloons, set up by The Citizen’s Foundation.

The colourful balloons were seen in the hands of practically every single attendee, not because of its beautiful colours but because of the fact that the profit would go to educate the underprivileged, which motivated people to play their part in setting up a bright future for our generations to come. At a specified time on all three nights, the balloons were released into the sky with the hope of a better future, and the image of all those dazzling balloons was something to remember.

Apart from eating out and enjoying the fun-filled activities at the festival, the visitors were also given a surprise when Pakistan’s famous vocalist Zoe Viccaji took the stage on the last night of the festival and mesmerized the attendees with her soothing voice. The festival ended in a beautiful display of fireworks over the romantic Boat Basin and the crowd cheered and appreciated the efforts of HUM Network for its initiative in providing families a safe environment in which to enjoy themselves. It was nothing short of a spectacular three-night event, depicting the true spirit of Karachites! The festival was organized by CKO events.
