Remembering the Pakistani Pop Queen – Nazia Hussan

The Pakistani queen of pop music Nazia Hussan was born in 1965 in Karachi and began her sensational singing career during late 70s. Her birth anniversary was marked on Sunday.

Nazia’s professional career started at the age of 15, when she provided a melodious ever green song ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ for the 1980 film Qurbani.

Nazia Hussan also won Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback for ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’.  Her albums that lead her to fame and success include Disco Dewane, Young Tarang, Hotline and Sang Sang

Nazia died of lung cancer on August 13, 2000 at the age of 35 and was given the Pride of performance award by the government of Pakistan in 2002.

Nazia Hussan is still alive in the memories of her fans, her songs have always been admired and source of inspiration for young singers like her.  God bless her soul!
