Former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim and his former wife, Sannia Ashfaq, have again drawn public attention after an alleged recording connected to their family dispute began circulating on social media.
Posts sharing the audio claim it captures a conversation involving Wasim, Ashfaq, members of his family and police personnel. Some accounts have also claimed that the couple’s children can be heard crying during the exchange. However, the recording’s origin, date and authenticity have not been independently verified, and the identities of the voices heard in it have not been officially confirmed.
The clip has prompted strong reactions online, with many users expressing sympathy for Ashfaq and the children. Social media commentary should not, however, be treated as proof of the circumstances surrounding the former couple’s separation or any ongoing family and legal proceedings.
The recording emerged shortly after Wasim posted a public statement asking Ashfaq not to involve his current wife, influencer Nyla Raja, in their dispute.
“I divorced you for my own reasons, and that chapter of my life is over. My life, my wife, and my family are no longer your concern. My wife has nothing to do with any issues between you and me. She came into my life after I had already divorced you, so stop dragging her into something she was never a part of. It’s time you accepted that reality, focused on your own life, and stopped creating public drama every day. This is the last time I’ll be addressing this publicly.”
Wasim announced in December 2025 that he had filed for divorce after more than six years of marriage, attributing the decision to “repeated conflicts that could not be resolved.” At the time, he asked the public to respect the family’s privacy and said he would continue to care for the couple’s three children.

He confirmed his marriage to Raja in February 2026. Ashfaq subsequently made a series of serious allegations against her former husband, including claims of infidelity, abandonment and mistreatment. Wasim’s lawyer rejected the allegations and said a legal notice had been issued, adding that the dispute was pending before the courts.
Neither Wasim nor Ashfaq appears to have publicly verified the newly circulated recording in full. There has also been no publicly reported confirmation from police or another independent authority establishing when or under what circumstances it was made.
As the former couple continue exchanging claims online, the alleged audio has intensified interest in a deeply personal dispute involving young children. Responsible coverage requires distinguishing verified statements from allegations and avoiding conclusions about private or legal matters that remain unresolved.
