A Comic Legend Dies at 60

Moin Akhtar, a mind-boggling exhibition of versatility, died yesterday with a heart attack, leaving behind an enormous treasure of timeless performances.

Moin Akhtar was a lot more then comedian. He began his long career as an impersonator and went on to become much appreciated stand-up comedian, TV, film, stage actor and talk-show host.

He was a jewel, who was not only admired in Pakistan but undoubtedly the entire subcontinent knew his worth. Once the great Indian film legend Dilip Kumar said, “Moin Akhtar’s great artistry is worth coping.”

Moin Akhtar was no doubt an asset for Pakistan in the truest sense of the word, he will always be remembered for his heart-throbbing artistry and genius.
