LAHORE: Pakistani fashion designer Ayesha Khurram’s flagship store in Lahore, and the first retail store she ever opened up, has turned two years old. The store located at Z Block, DHA, was Ayesha Khurram’s first store in Lahore, and is where the designer, now best known for dressing up Katy Perry, got her big break from.
“The DHA store is my baby because it was my first store,” said the soft-spoken designer who now operates from three stores, two in Lahore and one in Faislabad. “A first store is a big step for any designer, and I was extremely nervous yet excited when I was launching the DHA store.”
The store in DHA stocks the complete range of Ayesha Khurram including the formal wear, semi-formal wear, bridals and of course prêt. Alongside these, the store also stocks a full range of Ayesha Khurram embroidered fabrics which are based on unique motifs such as birds, geometric patterns and linear styles.
“The DHA store is a complete encapsulation of the House of Ayesha Khurram and has our complete range,” said the soft-spoken designer. “We also regularly and speedily update our collections at the store so our loyal clientele always has new designs to browse through when they visit the store.”
The DHA store also holds regular events and exhibitions where regular customers of Ayesha Khurram are invited to view the latest collections.
“I think the DHA store has earned a lot of loyalty over the last 2 years and we see a lot of the same people come back regularly to do their Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn shopping,” said the soft-spoken designer, whose recent showing at Showcase 2012 was a mega hit with the audience and critics alike.
The best news Ayesha Khurram received on her 2nd year anniversary was Katy Perry being photographed holding up her much-talked about Marilyn Monroe kurta. The picture went viral and had everyone talking about it.
To celebrate the 2nd year anniversary, Ayesha Khurram held an exhibition at her DHA store and also commenced a facebook contest, giving out her favorite Marilyn Monroe kurta to a lucky fan.
