TikToker Ali Hyderabadi has faced widespread criticism after a video apparently showing him divorcing his wife, Zainab Ali, circulated on social media.
In the viral footage, the social media creator is seen announcing his divorce in the presence of his brothers. Addressing his wife, he says, “I divorce you in front of my brothers.”
The recording quickly spread online and triggered strong reactions from social media users, many of whom criticised the decision to film and publicly share such a private and sensitive moment.
Following the video’s circulation, Zainab appeared in a separate recording in which she made an emotional appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for protection.
Visibly distressed, she said, “My appeal to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is to save me from this monster. Please provide me with protection. My life is in grave danger,” she can be heard saying in the video.
Zainab also alleged that Ali had threatened her with serious consequences after divorcing her. According to her account, he referred to his large social media following and influential connections and allegedly warned that he could have her killed.
Her claims prompted further outrage online, with numerous users calling on the relevant authorities to investigate the matter. Many said that appropriate legal action should be taken if the allegations are supported by evidence.
Ali later issued a public response rejecting the accusations levelled against him. In a new video statement, he appeared holding the Quran and maintained that his wife’s allegations were false.
Responding specifically to claims that he had physically assaulted Zainab, Ali said, “I did not break her hand or finger.”
He also addressed the widely shared footage in which he apparently pronounced the divorce. Ali claimed that the video had not been recorded for publicity or entertainment, but as evidence in an ongoing dispute with his in-laws.
“I recorded the divorce video as proof because my in-laws had already planned to throw me out,” he said.
Ali further alleged that his wife’s family had conspired against him and expressed disappointment over Zainab’s public accusations.
“I never imagined that Zainab would stoop so low,” he said.
The conflicting allegations have continued to generate intense debate on social media. While some users have criticised Ali’s conduct in the viral footage, others have cautioned against reaching conclusions before the claims from both sides are formally investigated.
No independent verification of the allegations or counterclaims was available in the information provided. Social media users have urged law-enforcement authorities and relevant institutions to examine the evidence and ensure the safety and legal rights of all parties involved.
