According to news reports, Deedar and her husband, Jahanzeb, have been booked on charges of human smuggling. Jahanzeb was arrested in Lahore after authorities accused him of collecting large sums of money from people by promising to help them settle abroad.
Investigators claim the scheme targeted individuals hoping to immigrate, with the suspect allegedly taking payments while offering false assurances of overseas settlement. Reports suggest that thousands of aspiring migrants may have been defrauded during the operation.
Police officials stated that the suspect resisted during the investigation process, which led to several raids being conducted at his residence before the arrest was carried out.
Authorities also believe that Deedar may have been involved in the operation. According to investigators, she allegedly managed offices in Lahore that were used to facilitate the scam connected to her husband’s activities.
Law enforcement agencies are currently searching for the actress as part of the ongoing investigation.
Reports further claim that during the police raids, Deedar appeared visibly shaken. Officials estimate that the couple may have collected as much as 250 million rupees through the alleged scheme.
