Arij Fatyma Opens Up About Her Divorce for the First Time

Arij Fatyma, a former Pakistani television actress and now a well-known digital creator, has opened up for the first time about a deeply personal chapter of her life. Known for her memorable roles in popular dramas like Tere Liye, Hassad, Kis Din Mera Viyah Howe Ga 2, Yaar e Bewafa, Aik Pal, Hiddat, Ishq Parast, and Teri Ulfat Mein, Arij has maintained a strong fanbase even after stepping away from mainstream television.

Currently living in the United States, Arij is happily married to Dr Ozair and is a mother of two sons. She often shares updates from her life in America, giving fans glimpses of her family, motherhood, and daily routine.

Recently, Arij Fatyma appeared on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, recorded in her hometown of Ohio. During the conversation, she spoke candidly about her first Nikah, which ended quickly and remained a topic she had never publicly discussed in detail until now. Her revelations surprised many fans, especially given the years of rumours about her past marriage.

Arij explained that her first marriage was arranged by her elders and moved forward rapidly due to limited connections in Pakistan, making it difficult for her family to properly investigate the proposal.

“Okay! So I don’t talk behind anyone’s back, but since you asked, I can tell you that my Nikah was arranged by elders. Their elders were acquaintances of my grandfather, and we had no links in Pakistan, so we could not do a proper investigation. We had the engagement and Nikah the next day, and it was called off after a month.

There was no Rukhsati. I wish him well; may he live a happy life. I haven’t shared anything; people have shared multiple things on the internet regarding this. It happened in January 2014, and it was over in February or March. I was 24.”

Her words made it clear that the marriage ended quietly and early, without a rukhsati, and that she chose to move on without speaking publicly about it. She also addressed how misinformation has spread over the years, clarifying that she herself never shared details, but others did.

Arij then shifted the discussion to her second marriage, describing how her relationship with Dr Ozair began unexpectedly, almost by accident. Unlike many celebrity love stories, she explained that her husband had no interest in showbiz and did not even recognise her fame at the time.

“I got married three years after my first divorce. Ozair wasn’t a media person; he didn’t even know me or like this thing. He is reserved. Okay, so many people don’t know that I accidentally met my husband. I had to meet someone at the university with the same name, so I texted him. He was also showing up in my cousin’s friends list on social media.

Ozair has never proposed to me; he just asked what the trend is when someone likes another person, to which I said, “You should send the parents to her house.” I also pressured him like a desi woman, and we got married.” Fans have praised Arij for speaking with honesty and maturity, especially for avoiding negativity while still telling her story.
