[Karachi: 02nd June 2014]: Karachi based production house, SOC Films, is set to release Pakistan’s first HD Urdu language animated feature film titled“3 Bahadur” in collaboration with ARY Films. Produced entirely in Pakistan, this animated feature promises to set a new standard for animated fiction and content geared towards children in the country.
3 Bahadur is a quintessentially Pakistani story – replete with unlikely heroes, menacing villains, fumbling thugs, dark horses, moments of triumph and bouts of despair. Packed with action, comedy and heart rendering moments, the film is set to redirect the trajectory of animated content by prioritizing story-telling, nuanced visuals and detailed driven animation.
3 Bahadur will be Pakistan’s first animated full-length super hero film that aims to empower and motivate today’s youth through dynamic 3D animation and an engaging story telling format. Based in a fictional town in Pakistan, eleven year old Amna, Saadi and Kamil set out to save their community from the many evils that plague it. The film is a journey of fighting back, taking charge, and finding support and love in the most improbable of places.
Speaking about her recent initiatives, Film and TV Director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy said,“Almost 3 years ago, I had an intense desire to create an animated feature in Pakistan which would appeal to both children and adults alike. I have to admit, venturing into the realm of animation was unchartered territory for my team and I, but everyone at SOC FILMS quickly warmed up to the idea and we began learning the ropsn and assembling a team of some of the best animators in the country to work with us! We are proud to announce and share the fruit of our hard work and efforts; Pakistan’s first animated feature film!”
SOC Films has successfully set up a state of the art animation and post production facility in their Karachi offices, with a number of feature length films in the pipeline. Development work on their second film has already commenced, with the company aiming to become a leading name for Pakistani animation nationally and internationally.
3 Bahadur is set to launch in the summer of 2015.
