A lot of things you can do to protect your eyes. I have compiled some handy tips for your eyes so that you can protect your eyes and make sure that your eye sight is best.

Eyes can be protected by eating healthy food. Eating right food protects your sight. There are a number of eatables that you must make a part of your daily routine. You often hear your elders saying that eat carrot; it is good for eyes. Yes it is! Carrot is best for eyes. Carrots are enriched in vitamin E which retina requires. You must eat a carrot daily. Besides carrot, other fruits and vegetables particularly dark green leafy vegetables are very beneficial for eyes. You can get plenty of omega 3 fatty acids by eating fish that help in preventing dry eyes.

Sun glasses are a great fashion accessory but its most important job is to protect eyes from dust and sun’s UV rays. You must wear goggles or sun glasses while go outside. To avoid the chances of eye allergy, make a habit of wearing the appropriate sun glasses. They must protect you from dust which is the root cause of allergy.

If you wear contact lenses then do not touch your eyes until hands are properly washed. Always wash your hands before putting in or taking out them to avoid the risk of infection in eyes.

Proper sleep is very essential for healthy eyes. Take proper sleep every night so that eyes get rest and can relax and their resistance increases against certain diseases.

Obesity or overweight increases the risk of diabetes which can lead to vision loss such as diabetic eye disease or glaucoma. So maintain your healthy weight to keep safe from diabetic eye diseases.

Smoking is injurious to all parts of body. It is worst for your eyes too. Smoking increases the risk and accelerates developing age related macular degeneration, optic nerve damage and cataract, all of these diseases can lead to blindness.

You must take a break from such activities that involve continuous staring otherwise it can lead to dry eyes. Artificial tears can help in reducing redness and irritation in eyes. You should try to blink eyes 12 to 15 times in a minute.

Rose water is beneficial for your eyes. You must wash your eyes with rose water to avoid eye burn and other eye problems.

You must wash your eye simply with cold water to relax.

You must take little eye exercise to keep your eyes healthy. I must suggest you very simple method to relax your eyes. Rub your palms against each other till they become warm. Cover your eyes with your warm palm about a minute. Palming is great way to relax and soothe the eyes.
