Adil Sartaj of Object talks about Launch of New Flagship Store in Lahore

In this exclusive interview with Fashion Central, we talk to Adil Sartaj about the launch of his new flagship store at Vogue Towers, Lahore.

Q1: When did you launch Object?

In 1999

Q2: Where is your first store located?

My first store is located at Park towers.

Q3: Describe the range of home accessories available at Object flagship stores.

There is a wide range available such as Candle holders, Table Linen, Picture Frames, Mirrors, Ashtrays, Vases, Clothes, Handmade Soaps, Cutlery, Platters, Trivets, Fruit Bowls, Tissue Boxes, Coasters, Ethnic and Modern Silver Jewelry, Stationery and many more.

Q4: How did you come up with the idea for a clothing line titled “Second Skin”?

We wanted to try something new and that’s how we brought our clothing line. The main purpose was to explore the prêt range and second skin seemed like a nice name.

Q5: Who designs Second Skin?

Joint efforts of me, my wife and my design team.

Q6: The over-arching aesthetic of home accessories at Object seems to be “contemporary and minimal”: is this a fair assessment of the sensibility of Object products?

At the moment, yes!

Q7: What is your personal favorite product at Object?

Truck art benches

Q8: How do you compare the Lahore and Karachi markets for home accessories?

It’s pretty much the same although Lahore customer base is larger.

Q9: What expectations do you have from the Vogue Towers store?

Hope that it expands; more people should come to know about the Object store.

Q10: Why a second store in Lahore, when you already have one in DHA?

There is a good market in Lahore so I felt the need to expand.

Q11: How do you feel the Lahore market differs from the Karachi market?

Lahore market is into much brighter colors.
