Practical Beauty Tips for Pretty and Healthy Nails

We are endowed with nails of toes and fingers that comprise of Keratin which falls in the category of a protein. The feature of fingernails is that they grow fast, almost 1.2 centimeters in one month. In case a person falls ill for some time, the changes visible to the eye can be seen in the nails.

Make sure to trim the toe nails in a straight line. Remember that if nails are cut in deep curves, the result can result can be split nails. It is essential to avoid ingrown nails and prevent toes from getting infected.

When you want nails to look pretty, go for dipping the nails and toes in warm olive oil for 15-20 minutes. This can be done 3 to 4 times in one week. Such treatment results in nails giving a healthy hue and they are no longer brittle.

To make the nails look bright, it is necessary to dip the nails in a cup of warm water. Add to it a spoon of fresh lemon juice and brightens results and stains go away
To add to the strength of nails and also make them pretty, use mustard oil. Dip nails in mustard oil for around 15 minutes and then massage the area around the nails. This enables more blood circulation.

Make Cuticles look good

Cuticles is the skin at the base of the finger from where the nail grows and emerges. There is a tendency for the Cuticles to look dry and irregular.

By application of a softener to this area of the nail the dry skin can be massaged away.

One more method is to rub the cuticles with a soft towel after soaking it in warm soapy water. Through this method the white membrane is removed effectively.

Infections caused by fungus

Fungal infection results in nails and toenails giving a yellowish look. This look can be   brownish too. Such infections affect the toenails more than finger nails.
