5 Mens Hairstyles for summer 2014

It will not be an overstatement to say that Pakistan has one of the hottest summers in the world. But, we also happen to be the liveliest people and do not believe in letting the sun lower our spirits. And so, here is a list of hairstyles that will make you look fresh and cool in this burning weather.

The first cut that any man who has good hair volume can pull off is this; go short on the sides and long at the top. This haircut looks fabulous with or without any product. Another great thing about this hairstyle is that it is really low maintenance, so you do not have to stand for hours in front of the mirror, trying to perfect it. And also because it is easy to achieve, the humidity will only be able to do so much to ruin it. When you go to work, use a light product to get some hold.

Slick never goes out of style. However, what you want to do in summers is get the same cut that you would get to achieve the slick, pushed back hair, but leave the ‘slick’ part alone. Get the cut but don’t style them the way you do with this hairstyle. Coif hair if paired with a nice matte product to get some lift and volume, looks really fresh in summers. It won’t look like you have a lot of product on.

One upcoming trend for this year is softer hair, worn down. This hair cut doesn’t demand too much, as you don’t even need a product to go with it. All you have to do is pick a direction and brush your hair that way. If you find that your hair doesn’t sit well, or that you don’t like the final look, blow-dry them. And while you’re at it, keep adjusting them with your fingers and leave it when you think you have achieved the look you wanted.

The perfect hairstyle for Pakistani summers will be an undercut. This means that you have length at the top, but at the sides and back of your head, you go really short. A cool way of getting this hairstyle is if you start the undercut lower and then just let your hair fade into skin.

This would mean, close to no hair near the ears and temples. You can go as dense or thin as you want to achieve the look you like. Then the top of your hair, you can style as you please. You can put on some gel and go for the spiky look, or go up at the front while leaving the rest down at the back.

One other way to wear the undercut is to go for the scrunched hair look at the top. For this, put some salt spray in your hair while they are damp. Scrunch them with your fingers, and then leave to dry.

Recently I had my hair cut at Silvio Salon which among many other salons in Dubai offer various summer haircuts. You can also get equally good haircuts at any good hairdresser or salon in Pakistan.

It will not be an overstatement to say that Pakistan has one of the hottest summers in the world.
