Atif Aslam Gets Criticised for Singing Indian Song at Independence Day Parade

Atif Aslam sang an Indian song at the Independence Day parade in New York and faced severe criticism on social media. 

Many thought it was inappropriate to sing an Indian song at an event held to mark Independence Day and left the concert midway.

The singer who has numerous Bollywood songs to his name sang Tera Hone Laga Hoon from the movie Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Since art knows no borders, Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali tweeted in his support that music is not Indian or Pakistani. It is just music! Singers r synonymous with their songs which r loved equally by fans from every country. “Should have briefed him if they wanted national songs.”

Atif Aslam himself has not responded to the accusations yet. But despite the fact he has supporters who stand by their favorite.
