Sumbul Iqbal remains one of the most recognized faces on Pakistani television, known for her consistent performances and strong screen presence. Starting her career at a young age, she quickly built a reputation through notable dramas such as Meray Khwab Raiza Raiza, Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga 2, Raju Rocket, Rukhsaar, Aik Pal, Tumsay Mil Kay, and Aik Thi Rania.
More recently, she received praise for her roles in Geo TV’s popular serials Maan Nahi Saas Hoon Main and Haya, further cementing her position in the industry. In a recent appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show, Sumbul opened up about her journey in showbiz and the realities of fame at a young age. During the conversation, she addressed whether she had ever considered stepping away from the entertainment world.
Responding to the question, Sumbul said, “I never thought of leaving the showbiz industry. I thank Allah that people know me and appreciate my work. Whatever I have done, good or bad, people have acknowledged it, for which I am grateful. This motivates me to do more work. It would be foolish to suddenly leave something to which you have devoted so much time. The message for everyone is to never abandon the work you have dedicated yourself to.”
She also reflected on how overwhelming early fame felt at the time. Speaking about that phase of her life, she shared, “Getting fame at a young age was surreal. I thank Allah. Honestly, at first, I didn’t even realize I had become famous. I wasn’t aware of what fan moments look like. I once went to take admission after college, and people started recognizing me by my character’s name.
Boys and girls would laugh, praise me, and recite my dialogues. It became challenging to walk through the university corridors just to submit my admission form. I was happy inside, but worried about coming to the university every day with this much fame. I then decided to complete my studies privately.”
Her experience highlights both the excitement and the challenges that come with early recognition. While fame brought admiration and attention, it also disrupted her routine life in unexpected ways.
Despite these challenges, Sumbul’s perspective today reflects gratitude and commitment. Rather than being overwhelmed by early success, she chose to stay focused on her work and continue building her career step by step, remaining dedicated to the path she started at a young age.
