Dr. Nabiha Reveals She Considered Divorce Shortly After Marriage

Clinical psychologist and social media personality Nabiha Ali Khan has revealed that she considered divorcing her husband, Haris Khokhar, shortly after their wedding due to intense public criticism.

The couple married in a private ceremony held at the home of Maulana Tariq Jameel, who officiated the Nikah. Photos and videos from the event spread quickly on social media, drawing both attention and backlash.

Speaking on a private news show, Nabiha described the period after her wedding as one of the most difficult times in her life. “This was the worst time of my life. I never imagined I would face so much pressure and public scrutiny,” she said. “At one point, I even considered taking a divorce because the criticism was affecting my mental health.”

Much of the attention focused on the wedding’s lavish details. Nabiha shared that her off-white bridal outfit, designed by Hina Salman, cost around Rs1 crore, while her jewellery was worth about Rs1.5 crore. The total cost of her bridal look exceeded Rs 2 crore. Haris wore an off-white sherwani to match her ensemble.

The ceremony was attended by a small group of guests, including several well-known personalities such as Farah Iqrar. Nabiha has been the target of criticism for various reasons. Many questioned the extravagance of the wedding, pointing out that she often advises women to live modestly, yet appeared to spend several crores on her own Nikah.

She also faced strong backlash for past remarks about women’s bodies, where she suggested that men are naturally drawn to beauty and compared Pakistani women unfavorably to Nora Fatehi. Despite the controversy, Nabiha’s recent comments highlight the emotional strain the public reaction placed on her early in her marriage.
