Months after undergoing treatment for liver cancer, actor Dipika Kakar faced another health setback. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, had earlier informed fans through his YouTube vlogs that Dipika developed a 13mm cyst in her stomach and needed to be hospitalised for surgery. He has continued to document her recovery, keeping well-wishers informed at every step.
In his latest vlog, Shoaib shared encouraging news. A day after revealing that the surgery went well, he posted another video from the hospital. Dipika appeared visibly better, smiling as her family visited her along with their son, Ruhaan. Shoaib was by her side, helping her sip juice, eat small portions, and carefully assist her as she tried to walk and sit upright.
Speaking briefly to fans from her hospital bed, Dipika said her pain had reduced significantly. She admitted that once the anesthesia wore off, the discomfort was intense. However, she added that seeing her family and Ruhaan made her forget about the pain. Shoaib also thanked fans for their prayers and constant support during this difficult phase.
The couple shared that Dipika was expected to be discharged within a day. Shoaib gently reminded her that she would need to make certain lifestyle changes during her recovery. “Bahut fans ne message aur comment bhi kia, roz ki chai band kardo, kam karni hogi haina,” he said. Dipika replied, “Kardungi bhai (I will do it).”
Towards the end of the vlog, the couple marked iftar together at the hospital before heading home. Just days earlier, on February 22, they had celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary before Dipika was admitted for surgery.
Dipika has been battling stage 2 liver cancer for the past few months. In June 2025, she underwent tumour-removal surgery as part of her treatment. Despite the challenges, she and Shoaib have remained open about her journey, regularly updating fans through their vlogs.
Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim married in 2018 and welcomed their son Ruhaan in June 2023. Through personal highs and health struggles, the couple has remained connected with their audience, sharing moments of strength, vulnerability, and gratitude.
