Momina Iqbal opens up after Nasir Madni publicly questions her character

A short video clip from a religious sermon has triggered a major online controversy involving actress Momina Iqbal, cleric Nasir Madni and politician Saqib Chadhar.

The matter began with a discussion around allegations reportedly mentioned in a legal complaint, but it soon developed into a wider public debate about morality, evidence, personal reputation, and the limits of public commentary.

In the viral sermon clip, Nasir Madni allegedly questioned the credibility of accusations Momina Iqbal made against Saqib Chadhar. According to reports, he referred to claims that the actress had received financial support, mobile phones, and other gifts in the past, suggesting that such matters could not be viewed in isolation.

His remarks quickly drew criticism online. Many social media users accused him of unfairly questioning Momina Iqbal’s character without presenting verified evidence. Others argued that public figures should be careful when discussing sensitive allegations, especially when a person’s reputation is at stake.

Momina Iqbal responded on her Instagram Stories, expressing anger over what she described as baseless public judgment. She said the truth of the matter is known only to her and Allah, and warned people against spreading unverified claims that could damage someone’s honour and reputation.

The actress also referred to Islamic teachings, citing principles from Surah An-Nur about the need for evidence before making accusations. She questioned how people could publicly discuss a woman’s character without proof and said those using her name in such a manner should be held accountable.

Her response received support from many users, who criticised the trend of judging women and public figures without due process. Supporters said that public debate should not become a tool for character assassination.

Momina Iqbal has also reportedly approached cybercrime authorities, including the NCCIA and FIA, alleging online harassment and intimidation. Reports suggest that digital evidence has been submitted and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of cybercrime and criminal law.

The matter also involves Saqib Chadhar, who has been accused in connection with the dispute. “The courts have granted interim relief in the matter and legal proceedings are pending.”

The controversy has now moved beyond a viral clip and become a legal and public issue. Online opinion remains sharply divided. One side supports Momina Iqbal and says no one should publicly question a person’s character without evidence. The other side believes Nasir Madni’s comments should be seen as an interpretation rather than a direct accusation.

The case continues to attract attention as legal proceedings and online reactions move forward, highlighting how quickly sensitive matters can escalate in the digital age.
