Well, most people think of Pakistan as a country stormed by the social and economic crisis. Some are horrified by the terrorist attacks and think of it as a country no longer suitable living. But, all of this is the bad side of Pakistan.

There surely is a good side and stuff that makes us feel proud of our country. But either we are not aware of it or we are ignoring it. For example, how many of you know that Pakistan's national anthem is ranked as the world's best national anthem?

When talking about the positive side, one of the most important characteristic of Pakistan is its geography. From the biggest desert Thar to the highest peak K2, the country's geography is incomparable.

There are many amazing and extraordinary locations in Pakistan that make the country special and enhance tourism. Some of them are listed below:

1. Khaghan Valley

Khaghan Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan. It is situated in the north-east of District Mansehra, Lower Himalayas.

There are a number spots which attract the tourist from all around the world by their bewitching beauty. Some of the most famous locations of Khaghan Valley are:

  • Lake Saif ul Malook

Saif ul Malook

Lake Saif ul Malook is a lake famous for its splendor and is said to be 'the heaven on Earth'. People often say that fairies come to visit this lake at night.

  • Shogran

Shogran

It is at a distance of 34 Km from balakot and 10 Km from Kiwai. There are various outstanding and affordable hotels and motels present. There is a track from Shogran to Siri paye and Makra peak. People often visit them by riding in a jeep or a horse or by hiking. Both of these places are known for their empyrean natural scenery.

2. Shundur Pass

Shundar also known as 'the roof of the world' is the highest polo ground in the world with a height of 3738 meters above sea-level. It is situated between Gilgit and Chitral. Here, a major pass has been built between Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral known as Shundar pass. Since 1936, every year during the month of July, a polo tournament is held on this ground which attracts tourists from around the Globe.

3. Kalash Valley

Kalash is a valley located in Chitral, Northern Pakistan. It is a major attraction of Pakistan not just because of its adorable scenery but also because of its history, people, and culture. It is said that Kalash was once conquered by Alexender The Great and the people living there believe that they are the descendants of the great conqueror. The people there are non-muslims and have a very different and unique way of life. There traditional clothing, songs and festivals are something to be seen.

4. Concordia

Concordia

Concordia is a confluence that lies in the heart of the Karakoram range. It is situated in Baltistan region. Concordia is said to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth with a height of 4600 meters above sea level. It is known as 'the paradise of mountaineers'. It is surrounded by the cluster of the world's highest peaks. Also, from the fourteen eight-thousanders of the world, four lies in this area. It is the best place for camping as it offers treks to various base camps such as to K-2 (5-6 hours), Ghasherbrum (7-8 hours) and Broad-Peak (2-3 hours).

5. Khewra Salt Mine

The salt mine in Khewra is the second largest salt mine in the world. It is a major attraction of Pakistan. A train has been built for tourists to show them the beauty of the mine. Replicas of some of the major attractions of Pakistan are built using salt bricks. For example Minar-e-Pakistan, Badshahi mosque etc.

6.  Ranikot Fort

It is situated in Jamshoro District, Sindh. It has a circumference of 26 kilometers and is said to be the largest fort in the world. Also, since 1993 it is on the list of the world heritage sites.

7. Lahore Fort

Lahore is a city with a number of historical buildings built by the great Mughal Dynasty. One of them is the Lahore Fort, alias Shahi Qila. This Fort is a symbol of rich and incomparable architecture of Mughals.

8. Port Fountain

Port Fountain

It is the second highest fountain in the world with the height of 620 feet and is situated near the oyster rock in the Arabian Sea. It increases the beauty of Clifton Beach and invites people from different countries to see it's beauty and glory.

Well, above was a list of a few beauties of Pakistan which makes it a remarkable country with extraordinary characteristics. So, it's quite clear that Pakistanis should be proud of the country they are living in.
