Thesis Display 2012 of PIFD Students
Thesis Display 2012 by PIFD students of five Departments was an exhibition of their creative abilities. In the process they were seeking academic success and getting noticedin the market.
The thesis work of PIFD students included work in the deraprtmental catagories such as Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Jewellery Design and Gemological Sciences, Furniture Design and Manufacturing. All students who are aspiring for a career in the respective field put their creative pieces on display in the exhibition.
Forty seven students of fashion design made a collection of four garments each, and the exhibits offered a live reflection of students’ efforts in terms of creativity, excellence in fabric selection and lifting the garment look to a level that brings out charm.
The graduating batch of fashion marketing and merchandising comprised of seventeen students and all aspects like design, costing and promotions were covered.
The department of jewelry design and gemological sciences displayed the work of twenty five students which in chides four jewelry pieces and fifth is an experimental non-wearable article. Five students of furniture design and manufacturing successfully designed four furniture pieces using innovative materials, after thorough research and not losing sight of consumer demands. As for textile design, 23 students came with apparel and home textile products, producing fascinating final products.
The jury for Thesis Display 2012 of PIFD Students comprises of French consultants, seminar faculty members and eminent fashion industry leaders like Kamiar Rokni and the nationally known Amin Gulgee.
