The creation of Luscious Cosmetics was inspired by a huge gap in the Pakistani market for high-quality, value for money cosmetic products that are formulated specially for our own skin tones and climate. Most products in the market are of dubious origin, dumped in the market near because they are near expiry, and contain harmful ingredients.
Another inspiration was the philosophy that make-up should be fun--from the packaging to the colours and quality, giving freedom to experiment and create your own signature look without worrying about harmful ingredients and animal by-products. Most of all, I wanted a make-up brand with a fun attitude and gorgeous products.
Luscious Cosmetics was launched one year ago and the response has been tremendous. We are delighted that our customers appreciate the quality and innovation that goes into each Luscious product. The value for money factor has worked very well, encouraging our customers to stop using very cheap products that harm their skin by making high-quality products easily affordable.
Every day I receive a mountain of emails applauding our policy of not testing on animals, not using animal ingredients in our products and striving to provide the newest innovations in cosmetics to the Pakistani market. It is a great feeling to see that consumers in Pakistan are standing up for their right to have high-quality products available to them instead of sub-standard ones.
As I always say “Wear Sunscreen!”. The summer sun is the major cause of premature aging, dark spots/patches and uneven skin tone. To combat this, our bestselling Whitening Base SPF 35 is the perfect blend of oil-free moisturizer, SPF 35 (sunscreen) and make-up base (ideal to wear under makeup). No amount of makeup can cover damaged skin so it is best to prevent sun-damage before it happens.
The main makeup trends for Summer ‘09 are peach and coral shades for cheeks and lips. Smoky eyes are here to stay this season as well. Eyeshadow shades in aqua, lime-green and lilac are all over the summer runways.
The latest additions to the Luscious Cosmetics range include a 6-piece brush set and the Catwalk Intense Liquid Eyeliner. A complete range of Luscious Nail Polish in delicious colours will be in stores in June.
The Luscious brush set is made from premium synthetic fibres instead of animal hair which most other brands are using (so all the badgers, moles, ponies and rabbits of the world can breathe a sigh of relief). Luscious Cosmetics does not use animal hair in accordance with our “cruelty-free” policy.
The Catwalk Intense Liquid Eyeliner uses the latest Japanese precision-tip applicator for a perfect line. It is waterproof, free of eye irritants, and suitable for contact lens wearers (like me!).
Of course! Like all great international brands, every season there will be new shades, new products, and new kits in the Luscious Cosmetics range so our customers can enjoy the newest trends in makeup.
Luscious Cosmetics is available at leading retailers nationwide and now available in Pakistan.
The “Get The Look” kits are a great way to build your seasonal makeup collection. The free metallic clutch bags make it double the fun! Good luck to all Fashion Central readers.
