Sreeram Chandra, the Next Indian Idol

Hyderabad based Sreeram Chandra has won the fifth season of music reality show, Indian Idol 5 and was awarded by Superstar, Amitabh Bachan.
His victory on the show has landed him with Rs. 5 million cash, a Tata Winger car, one year contact with Sony BMG and for the first time, a chance to sing a song in a Yash Raj Film’s project.
For Sreeram it was undoubtedly the best Independence Day of his life, before winning the title he said, "Independence Day has always been important. If I win, I will feel lucky that I have received my identity on a day when my country celebrates its independence. For the rest of my life I will celebrate this day as my victory day"
Bollywood celebrities including Kareena Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Richa Sherma, Alisha Chinnai, Shankar Mahadevan and Bollywood’s Big B were also there to celebrate India Independence Day and grand finale of Indian Idol 5, held at the Filmistan Studios.
