The movie has been released worldwide but much fanfare. The PR and marketing strategy of the movie has been excellent and it has managed to fill out the initial screenings. But the most anticipated movie of the summer has failed to meet viewer’s expectations.
I had a chance to view the movie and was thoroughly disappointed. For me the movie was a waste of my time and money. Actually movie had nothing, no plot; no songs, no real story and I thought the background music did not do justice with the emotions of the scenes. In those deadly and life threatening car chases we hear a background music that is happy and casual, giving away the fact that they will walk away without a scar. It seems the Kites has been produced and marketed just for the two actors that they wanted to see Hrithik rohsan and Barbara Mori.
The story line is romantic but lacks the passion and romance. Kites is a total disaster and I don’t see it doing that well. The strong marketing might have pulled in the crowds initially but I doubt that will be enough to sustain good turnouts.
