Lollywood’s favorite Reema Khan quite recently had sent some proposals to the federal ministry of culture for the purpose of reviving the industry. According to her, the proposals were finalized and forwarded with an unanimous agreement and proper consultation with some other celebrities and big names in the film industry. But, so far, to her disappointment, no positive sign or any response came from the ministry.
Reema holds an intense opinion on screening of Bollywood’s movies in Pakistan. She said that this very step didn’t generate any large revenues to neither the distributors nor the exhibitors and thus they are forced to discontinue this ongoing Indian adventure. She further expressed that the ongoing recession period and the non-professionalism has further added to the problems of local film industry.
Reema is thinking of moving back on the small screen and would be more than glad to act on TV serial. She is being offered a role in Irfan Khusat’s upcoming project, but, ofcourse films are her first love. Presently, she is busy producing an Urdu film, ‘Kitni Haseen Hai Zindagi’.
What were the contents of her proposal? That should be public information.
I agree with the above comment. And Reema, if you really wanna "revive" the Pakistani film industry then why don't you make a quality film with a good story? Pakistanis wanna see movies like Khuda Ke Liye, Ramchand Pakistani, Jinnah, etc not your regular stupidity such as Koi Tujh Sa Kahan.
I completely disagree with commenter number 2. The sad fact is that people of Pakistan DO NOT want to see quality movies and that is because we have been bollywoodized. Ramchand Pakistani was not screened for very long in many theaters because people wanted to see stupid movies from across the border. Khuda Ke Liye, though a very good movie, only gained an audience because of Iman Ali and the controversy the film had caused. Also, Jinnah was released in very different times so you cant even bring that into comparison. The fact is that we NEED good commercial films and atleast Koi Tujh Sa Kahan was an effort. Atleast she is making an effort. Keep on rocking Reema.
