Scrutinize dating raid by the presenter Maya Khan during one of her TV shows has sparked a backfire amongst four local nongovernmental organizations.
In the recent show of Samaa TV, the show host Maya Khan hunted dating couples in a park of Karachi with a group of about 15 women and a cameraman. She viciously chased the couples asking them weird questions like what were they doing in the park? Were they engaged? Did their parents know about where they were? and also demanded the proof from the couples who claimed to be married.
The morning show was aired on Samaa TV on 17th January, 2012 turning the vigilantes furious on such a rubbish act. Almost everyone berated the show calling Maya Khan as ‘vigil aunties’ and her tactics a ‘witch hunt’.
Now the protests have reached the Supreme Court by four local NGOs who had planned to file a suit against Samaa TV.
