It would be strange to hear but it is true that belts this summer have emerged out of their stereotypes. One of the most significant Spring/Summer 2009 fashion trends that we are going to witness is that skinny belts will be worn over everything. What a beautiful way to add personality to your outfit!

In the Resort 2009 designer collections skinny belt was definitely one accessory that stood out sometimes the belt was even worn in a double manner. Wide belts worn high are also in fashion trend. According to Who What Wear Daily the newest fashion trend when it comes to belts is, well, actually wearing a belt on your natural waist and tucking your shirt into your pants. Thus while using belts as something to accentuate your waist; you have to choose belts which are bold, beautiful. This boldness can be shown in two ways, either choosing a wide belt or a skinny belt. No girl can get by right now without a skinny belt or two to top off any outfit. Kate Moss has perfected and popularized the skinny belt look; Victoria Beckham even got the belt part down pat; and it's easy to take the look from day to night.

Just last month we were marveling at the genius of Lucy Liu's clear belt, which she wore with her pink Lanvin dress to the 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Some other fashion trends for the season: leather wraparound belts, double-skinny belts—with or without tassels—and belts that are wide in the front and tapered in the back.
