Sonia Batla’s Collection is a study of space.... explored through a look at traditional pleating, draping, folding and sewing styles in the East. Predominantly explored are the “farshi gharara” from Indo-Pak, the Kimono from Japan , and so on. Different silhouettes are juxtapositions to create a fresh balance. A new balance has been achieved through the intermix of the Eastern tradition.
Veet is the personification of femininity, a brand that has been aspirational to women across the globe. The Veet woman radiates confidence with a hint of feminine charm and is admired by all those that surround her. Veet gives her the confidence to be more than a woman. She is surrounded by admirers, both men and women and needless to say, she is the centre of attention. Over the past few years, many top models & actresses such as Katrina Kaif have represented and captured the essence of the Veet brand, making glamour a significant part of the Veet world.
With this essence in mind, Veet hosted a mega fashion presentation in Karachi at the PC hotel on the 11th of November 2009, under the theme of Veet- Celebration of Beauty. The show featured collections from 6 of the finest ambassadors of Pakistan fashion - Faiza Samee, Zara Shajahan, Saadia Mirza, Sonia Batla, Ayesha Hashwani and HSY. The collections depicted versatile themes and took influences from across the globe, merging them with the unique Pakistani essence and presented before the bustling 500 strong audience in their own signature styles.
The show was modeled by Iraj Manzoor, Mehreen Syed, Rabya Chudary, Rabia Butt, Nadia Hussain, Fauzia , Faiza Ansari, Neha Ahmed, Nadia Ali, Maha, Mehak, Rubab, Koni, Angeline, Amna Illyas,Sabeena Pasha and Saima. Hair & Makeup was done by Sabs Saloon. Jewelery courtesy by Nazneen Tariq, Ali Javari and Shaherzad.
A highlight of the show was a spellbinding performance by the evergreen rock duo of Pakistan, Strings, who performed a medley of their hit numbers, ‘Koi Aanay Wala Hai’; ‘Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar’; and ‘Dhaani’. The performance, presented during ace designer Saadia Mirza’s showing, left the audience in awe as the models walked the ramp to their moving tunes.
The event was conceptualized, choreographed and produced by Frieha Altaf of Catwalk Productions while the PR was managed by Frieha Altaf through Catalyst the PR & Marketing Company.
