Work and family commitments are making you tense? Then it's time put some balance into your life. Here are some tips for getting a stress-free work and life balance.
Your health should always be your prime priority. If you're not healthy both mentally and physically, it will disturb all areas of your life. You should get enough sleep, eat regularly, take time out for relaxation, and exercise at least thrice a week.
Its good to give priority to your work and family but at the same time, it's also important that you take some time out for yourself. It doesn't need to be a whole day off or visit to spa. You can simply go on a drive, go on walk to the park and enjoy the outdoors, play a round of golf, visit the gym.
Learn to manage your time more effectively or it can result in a loss of hours and can increase your stress levels. Implement some simple time management strategies:
* create to-do lists and prioritise them,
* avoid time wasters,
* share the load wherever you can,
* set yourself time limits.
Do not accept more tasks when there's already too much tasks on your plate. Learn to say "no" to things both in your personal and professuional life. It's better to say "no" than feeling guilty.
Learn to leave your working life behind the minute you leave the office. You should also try turn off the laptop and resist checking your e-mails at all hours of the day .
If you're unable to maintain work life balance. Go for a more flexible work options like flexible hours, working from home, job sharing, family-friendly offices etc
If work's getting too much and you are really suffering, take some time out for yourself and your family. Use your annual leavs or opt for leave without pay and go on a break.
