If you are a book lover and have a fondness towards accumulating a range of books of all genres, expensive encyclopedias editions, world records editions, almanacs, then you need an in-house library.

Your huge collection need to be stacked in neatly and should boast about your interest in books and thus, for this reason, creating your own in-house library is an excellent idea.

By setting up an in-house library, you can, without much hassle, organize your collection of books and preserve a record of all the old and new books you have, for your convenience.

Here is how you should get started:

•    Choose a room in your house which is either not used much or is a tiny store room with plentiful space in it. An empty room is your first requirement.

•    Make a budget for all the materials and essential items you would require like, materials for building walls and floors, shelves, furniture and lightening supply.

•    Now comes the designing part. You may hire services of a professional consultant in this case. To get a hunch of how much it could cost, ask your carpenter for a quote on a model selected from a furniture catalogue or an interior designing magazine.

•    On the quantity of books, types and volumes, you need to see how much shelves you would require. For instance, history, literature, art, fiction, romance, biography etc. after doing so, make sure you have enough space for more books, if any, you plan to buy in future.

•    If there are no empty rooms, no worries at all. You can always use free walls to build floor-to-ceiling bookshelves.

Now you can have your own library right in your own home. Just choose your favorite book from the shelf and enjoy a quite peaceful leisure time reading away and add more to your already oceans of knowledge.
