There are four basic kitchen design layouts that are popularly used in all kitchen designs.

Corridor Kitchen Design layout: For an elongated, narrow area with doors at each end you don’t have much choice in kitchen design other than the two facing rows of appliances and storage units. You should allow sufficient walking space between two rows; a safe walk-through corridor allows easy contact to the whole kitchen. However in really narrow rooms, this kitchen design layout can be altered to restrict fittings to one side of the room.
L-shaped Kitchen Design layout: This is the most popular kitchen design layout and best solution where the kitchen can fit into a corner.
U-shaped Kitchen Design layout: This layout is suitable as all working areas are within simple reach. This Kitchen Design layout is appropriate for small rooms and also for larger rooms.
Island Kitchen Design layout: This Kitchen Design is considered luxurious; the island Kitchen Design layout needs a fairly large room. This Kitchen Design reduces the amount of walking you need to do.
