Plant a windowsill garden

You can bring your herb garden indoor in winter by planting a windowsill garden. Pakistani ladies who are fond of gardening can plant many herbs in containers which require minimal care and are easily cooked.

You can plant a windowsill garden in 20 minutes and here is how you can do it:

First of all make sure that you have a sunny windowsill for herbs. For a perfect windowsill garden, a window towards south or southeast would be best as it gets five hours sun per day.
Also purchase some of your favorite small herb plants from any Pakistani nursery.
Get hold of a container that is at least 6-12 inches deep. Any Pakistani gardener can plant multiple herbs in wide or long containers.
Use a soil-less potting mix and make sure that mix is light and will be well draining for windowsill garden.
Put a two-three inch layer of potting mix into the bottom of your container and then position your herb plants in the container.
Finish filling in with the potting mix, firming gently around the plants. Leave about an inch at the top of the container for watering.
Water sparingly and feed once a month with a fertilizer labeled for use on edibles garden.
Allow the plants of herbs to acclimate for sometime. Once you see new growth, you can start using your herbs.
