Ramadan restricts eating at two very specific times in a day; sehri and iftaar.
Instead of taking full advantage of this very healthy Ramadan diet routine we let our diet run even wilder.
Diet in Ramadan should not be let loose just because of the frequent sehri and iftaar parties that are synonymous to Ramadan. We freak out over the prospect of no food over the next dozen or so hours. This Ramadan panic makes us overeat at Sehri, immediately after we go sleep. At Iftaar we over eat thinking how starved we must be since we haven’t eaten in so long. This diet mess that Ramadan sehri and iftaar become is only because we let ourselves right into the greed trap.
Food obsession is your biggest diet spoiler in Ramadan especially. Oh it’s Ramadan, I haven’t eaten all day I can afford some calorie overdose; that’s greed at iftaar and sehri. While keeping our diet unplanned and bulky we ignore water intake and everything nutritional.
For Ramadan diet try eating lots of fruits and vegetables, they will make your iftaar a little boring maybe but your glowing skin would be worth it. At sehri avoid greasy foods, wheat is a good idea. The golden rule of Ramadan diet is drink lots of water between iftaar and sehri. And don’t become a couch potato in Ramadan please, you’re allowed to move!
Ramadan ends with most of us gaining weight even when we spend most part of the day not eating, why? We let our food obsession drive us crazy on sehri and iftaar like there is no tomorrow.
