Ramadan is a time of spiritual, mental and physical cleansing. During long and hot summer, it is required to observe fast for fifteen hours or more. To ensure that you have a safe and healthy Ramadan, follow these health tips.

Before Ramadan comes, a Muslim should always contact his physician about the safety of fasting in individual circumstances so that he should stay healthy.

This health tip suggests that even if you are fit remember that Ramadan will take a toll on you. So plan your fasting schedule and meals ahead of time in order to make sure you get the nutrients, hydration, and rest that you need.

According to this health tip, it is suggestive that before fasting you eat at Sahar (prior to dawn), we all know that getting up is difficult but it has many health rewards. Perform your Fajr prayer after it. Make sure that you don’t overeat in Ramadan and focus on taking in foods that are rich in complex carbohydrates and protein, fruits or vegetables, and plenty of water.

This health tip states that you stay inside for the hottest part of the day. During this part of the day, limit your physical activity when fasting. Rest if possible during Ramadan.

At Iftar, follow the Sunnah and for healthy reason break your fast with dates and either milk, water, or fruit juice. After the Maghrib prayer, continue with a light starter such as soup and crackers. After a long period of fasting, you need to bring your fluids and blood sugar level up without overdoing it. Drink more water in Ramadan.

According to this health tip, during Ramadan evening resist the temptation to drink tea, coffee or soda. When visiting friends or family, ask for glasses of water. For healthy wealthy reasons, serve your family and guests a desert of fresh fruit and nuts during Ramadan. This health tip suggests that you sip on water throughout the evening after fasting. Aim for eight glasses by bedtime.

The Ramadan, health tip also emphasis that you take light exercise, such as walking for 15-20 minutes, is best done in the evening hours after iftar.
