Beauty Tips

Winter cosmetics are no different from summer cosmetics. But these cosmetics don’t make you look as fruity and bubbly as they do otherwise. The reason being, winters are dull and dry and they make the application of cosmetics difficult as well. In order to make your winter cosmetics last longer, you need to follow a few tips.

Choosing the right product is the key to good makeup. Moisturizers are an addition to winter cosmetics since they are generally not used during summer days. Moisturizer makes your skin supple, soft and crack free. It makes the application of makeup easier, especially the foundation and ensures the base does not crack due to skin dryness. Pond’s dry skin cream is a good moisturizer. Facial moisturizers by Olay, Estee Lauder, MAC, Clarins and Elizabeth Arden are highly recommended by beauticians. If you have oily skin, go for Mary Kay’s Oil free hydrating gel. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture for Sensitive Skin and H20 Plus Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment are a must try oil-free moisturizers. Skin can tend to age during winters. While picking a good moisturizer, make sure it is anti-aging and has a minimum SPF 15 to keep skin safe from the radiant winter sun.

Once you have decided on a good moisturizer, it's time to apply the foundation. Using the usual style, however you will require additional concealer. During winters, the skin gets dry and dark circles become more prominent. Add a good concealer to your winter cosmetics bag. Make up does not smudge easily in winters. If you apply your base right, you can continue doing your evening make up on the day makeup. You just need to add extra dark color to your eyes and emphasize their shape using a good eye pencil or eye liner. Winter cosmetic tips for eyes differ from summers. Winters demand darker eye shades regardless of the color of your clothes.

Apply extra bronzer to your cheeks. Make your cheeks glow in winters. Top the glow with a shade of pink blush. Maybelline Dream Mousse in Peach Satin, NARS Lovejoy and MAC Gleeful are shades of rosy pink cheeks. The best blush of color depends on your skin color so try it on before buying for your winter collection.

Bring the sizzling seduction in your lips by upgrading your winter cosmetics. Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Color, Revlon Renewist LipColor, Neutrogena Moisture Shine Soothing LipSheers, Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick will make your chapped lips look like million dollar lips.

Your hands can also get wrinkly and dry during winters. Hand cream by Loccitane and Jo Malone and almond hand cream by The Body Shop make your hands buttery with extra nourishment and essential oils that even if you wash your hands, they remain soft and creamy. Your nails can become dry and brittle and your cuticles will also require additional care. Apply corn, soy or almond oil on your nails and cuticles after a warm bath. This will retain the elasticity and shine in your nails.
